Of making many books there is no end; and much study is a weariness of the flesh. —Ecclesiastes 12:12

BOOKS

My current book projects are reflective of the breadth of my interests: a non-fiction book about Shakespeare and the Hebrew Bible; a literary novel about a grandson of Holocaust survivors; and a new kind of Hanukkah cookbook. All are still seeking publishers.

  • The Folio of this world

Shakespeare so permeates our language that it’s almost like a secular scripture. What if we took that literally? The Folio of This World examines Shakespeare as a skeptical reviser of the Hebrew Bible.

  • Fables of a Jewish Century

A Jewish young man travels through Poland with his grandmother in the mid-1990s. The same man, in the mid-2020s retraces his earlier steps. Do secrets actually reveal? Is history always a circle?

  • Eight Courses, Eight Nights

A Hanukkah dinner party cookbook based on an eight-course dinner that I hosted annually for eight years, with sections on the history of the holiday and of its signature ingredient: olive oil.
